After you’ve registered, visit myevents.active.com to manage your team or your individual entry.
- Can I change my team name? We all like the ‘undo’ button.
Team captains can log in at myevents.active.com, click Manage My Team, and then Edit. Once there you can change your team name and password.
- How big can my team be? Huge or just you.
- Are teams required? Nope.
We enter a lot of events on our own, call us adventurous, so we welcome you as an individual or even as a nameless team. If your friends or family are weary to participate, have them volunteer!
- My team’s wave is full…How do I get in their wave!? Like this…
Everything is better with friends together. If your team’s wave time is full, scroll to the bottom of the wave selection page and register for the “My Team’s Wave Is Full…Transfer me to their wave.” We make sure you are in the same wave as your team captain come LoziLu. Important Note!!! We’re all about maximizing your fun and keeping teams together is a way we do this, but we may have to shift your team’s wave time to avoid major backups on-course. Most wave time shift are just 15 minutes. We’ll give you a few days heads-up if we need to shift your wave time.
- How fit do I have to be? A little.
LoziLu is all about fitness and fun. Bring the right mindset and most everyone is able to finish. All fitness levels are encouraged to participate. If you can comfortably walk 3 miles you will be able to finish, however some of the obstacles may prove very challenging (although none are required). A little bit of training makes LoziLu much more fun and LoziLu Traning has you covered at no charge.
Women provide amazing support, don’t judge, and a helping hand is never far away. LoziLu training programs, provided by Orange Shoe Personal Fitness, are designed to help prep your fitness regardless of your current activity level. A bit of light cardio a couple times per week along with some strength work will help you increase your enjoyment of the course. Still, we all doubt ourselves at times and thus all obstacles are optional. Click here for more on training for LoziLu.
- Do you have training programs? Yes.
Two of the LoziLu founders are also athletic coaches. They have designed training programs to help you prep for LoziLu and magnify your enjoyment. Whether you are welcoming fitness back to your life or you are competitive athlete, there is a LoziLu plan to get you ready to LoziLu. Check out LoziLu Training.

- Do you have showers and a changing area? Yes.
LoziLu respects your desire to clean up as well as your privacy. So maybe the “showers” are just a hose with a nice nozzle on the end, but if your friend holds the nozzle high in the air then it’s just like showering at home The hoses certain get you clean enough to party or relax in the summer sun. The Change Tent gives you privacy from peeping Tom. Remember to pack an old bath towel to get you dry and a garbage bag for your dirty clothes.
- How old do I have to be? 13 or older.
Fitness at every age is important, but the minimum age to participate is 13. Everyone under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign their release waiver before heading down to LoziLu. If you are under 18 and forget your waiver, we can’t let you participate. Download the .pdf waiver here.
- How much is donated to patients with leukemia and lymphoma? 5%.
We love fitness, we hate cancer. 5% of your registration is donated directly to LIFE in order to support research and young patients with this horrible disease. During registration you can also elect to donate additional dollars to LIFE; 100% of these dollars go to LIFE. Want even more money to go to LIFE? In lieu of running LoziLu you can donate the equivalent of your entry fee directly to LIFE by visiting GiveToLife.org. Please visit LIFE to see how we are helping cancer patients live happier lives and for more information on applying for financial assistance.
- What should I expect on the day of LoziLu?
Knowing what to expect is tantamount to your enjoyment of LoziLu. We cover in detail what to expect at Girls Day Details.
- What should I wear?
Leave your finest fitness gear at home. Pick a comfy workout outfit (or Team Outfit) appropriate for the weather that you don’t mind getting really dirty, possibly stained. The same goes for your socks and sneakers. Or gather the girls and create a Team Outfit, your team may just win an amazing prize and take home our coveted Best Outfit award! Visit Day of Prep for this info and more.
- Can I wear a costume? Absolutely & there’s a Best Outfit Contest.
Wear ‘em! Just remember to respect those that are running around you, don’t wear or bring anything that could possibly harm someone else during the run.
- What should I pack?
Your ID, sunscreen, some rags, an old bath towel, a garbage bag (to keep the car clean) and some casually stylish party clothes with shoes that can get a bit dirty. If it’s going to be chilly or rainy, pack some warm and dry clothes too. A bit of cash or credit card to purchase from vendors at the Fitness Farmer’s Market and the always fashion-forward LoziLu merchandise. Stop by Day of Prep for this info and more.
- When can I check-in? On-site at LoziLu.
Always remember your ID for check-in.
Check-in varies slightly from event to event. LoziLu offers on-site check-in the day of LoziLu anytime prior to your wave. Plan on arriving about an hour before your wave time to keep things stress-free and to soak in the festivities. Look to emails and your city’s LoziLu.com page for specifics.
- Can I check-in for a friend? Yes, with the proper credentials.
Always remember your ID for check-in.
VIP Team captains (teams bigger than 10 members) can check-in for all of their team members; the team captain assumes all responsibility of distributing bib numbers, wristbands, and Totes to the proper registered LoziLu’er and teammate.
Friends can check-in for a friend only if they have a copy or photo (smartphone photo is handy) of their friends government issued ID along with a letter or email providing permission.
Online Waivers must be signed in advance for another person to pick up your packet (this includes friends and team members). Those without signed waivers receive email reminders the week leading up to LoziLu.
Note: Totes must be picked up on-site and are not shipped to participants.
- Do you time us? No.
If you register for the first wave of the day, you have unabated access to the course and obstacles. There is no timing system, so bring a watch if you wish to get your course time. Many of us at LoziLu participate in competitive races throughout the year, yet the focus of LoziLu is fitness, friends and fun rather than measuring yourself against others. Perhaps you will decide to carry your fitness into a competitive event, and we would be happy to suggest a few of our favorite races.
- Can I participate with a medical condition or while pregnant? We can’t say.
Medical advice is best left to your personal or family doctor. Check with them if you are unsure if you should participate.
- What are the obstacles like? Fun of course.
Bad Hair Day, Tan Lines, Mani-Pedi, Walk This Way, and The Exfoliator are just a few (click here for some obstacle photos)…climbing, crawling, jumping, balancing, sliding, scampering, and a little bit of courage help to get past them all. Each obstacle is designed with a variety of fitness levels in mind. The ultra-fit as well as the first 5Ker find fabulous fun on course. None of our obstacles are designed to hurt you. There are NO fires or electric shocks. The natural terrain serves as our canvas to craft a unique experience for each LoziLu city.
- Do I have to do EVERY obstacle? Nope.
Every LoziLu obstacle is optional. Our obstacles are creatively crafted to challenge a variety of skill and fitness levels. However, we all have our moments of doubt and we support your decision to walk around any obstacles you are not comfortable with.
- Is the whole course muddy? Nope, just in a few places.
The term “mud run” is deceiving since the majority of the 5k course is on dirt roads or trails, but “dirt run” just didn’t have the same ring to it. Every LoziLu course has several mud baths to rejuvenate. Some venues incorporate more mud than others due to the natural terrain. Look at the details of your city’s info page for the dirty details.
- Do I have to crawl through the mud? No.
Every obstacle is optional, even the mud pit. if you decide to go detour the mud pit, you are likely to still get dirty doing other features. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained, dark clothes fair a little better than light. We hear costumes are the easiest to clean…wink, wink.
- What if I can’t swim? Not a problem.
All water-based feature require ZERO swimming ability.
- Why isn’t this obstacle part of your course?
Each venue incorporates slightly different obstacles depending on the terrain features. For the most part, each LoziLu has about 10-12 obstacles and a couple may be unique to the venue. Check out the specific city where you are participating for more information on the course and its obstacles.
- Is there drinking water on-course? Yes, that’s the Party Oases!
There are two to three Party Oases on-course with water to keep you topped off. Music flows at each party oasis, the perfect opportunity for an impromptu dance party on-course with your fellow LoziLu’ers. An additional water station quenches your thirst at the Start and Finish. The world-famous Snack Drawer satisfies a little craving with bottled water, bananas, snacks, and other treats.
- What safety measures are taken? Many.
There is a degree of risk to everything we do. Running off-road along with jumping on, over, and off obstacles certainly increases the risk of injury, but we take precautions to maximize your fun. The professionally designed obstacles are incredibly rigid. Each obstacle has volunteers with a communication device. Physical Therapy professionals, athletic trainers, and EMTs are on site in case an emergency arises. Still, you enter LoziLu at your own risk.
- Can I transfer my entry? Absolutely!
LoziLu is a huge fan of flexibility and customer service. Life happens and we want to accommodate you as best as possible. We are happy to transfer your registration without any extra fees. Transfers must be completed by the Tuesday prior to your LoziLu (sorry, no exceptions). To transfer your entry, Log-In at myevents.active.com and click on Transfer. You need the name and email address of the person with whom you are transferring. The person you are “transferring to” will go through the entire registration process, including paying for the “transferred” entry. Hang in there, we’ll explain….Once the transfer successfully registers at the current price, you (the person transferring out of LoziLu) receives a refund of your initial entry fee.
I hope that makes sense. We would have designed the process a little differently, but the end result is that you get your money back in exchange for finding someone to run in your place. If you have any problems logging into Active, initiating your entry, simply email [email protected] with the subject: LoziLu Transfer Needed. The wonderful Active team is super helpful.
No transfers are accepted past the close of online registration; this includes day-of transfers.
- Can I get a refund? Kind of.
We have an awesome transfer policy which other events can’t match, but also have a strict no refund policy when it comes to,”I can’t run because of____, give me a refund.” However, you will get a refund if you find someone to run in your place. At the end of a successful transfer you receive a refund of your entry because someone just paid to register in your place. What other event, concert, show, or game provides that sort of opportunity!? See above: Can I transfer my entry? for more details on the transfer process.
- What if it rains? LoziLu is a go!
Consider it an added benefit and plan for even more mud! Bring some warmer clothes and a raincoat. If there is severe weather then LoziLu is delayed until it passes. Tents provide some coverage for the after-party area.
- Can I get a LoziLu in my city? Maybe.
We welcome your suggestions! The toughest planning piece is the venue, give us some venue ideas nearby and that increases the likelihood of adding your city. About 3 miles of off-road trails and access to water are a must. Send us suggestions at [email protected]
- When can I show up to party?
The music starts about an hour prior to the first wave. Around 10am the party is in full swing. LoziLu wraps up two hours after the start of the final wave.
- Are there any awards? Biggest Team & Best Outfit.
LoziLu is more inclusive than other fitness events and there are no competitive-based awards. Instead, the largest team earns a special prize (hint, it’s usually a case of wine…perfect for the after-after party). Best Outfit is another highly coveted prize. Best Outfit is voted for on-site and is done twice throughout the day. See the entertainment schedule on your city’s page for the Best Outfit award times.
- Can I bring my dog? Woof!
We like dogs and leave it up to you discretion if you wish to bring Lassie as long as your city’s venue permits dogs. The event will be crowded with around 2,000 people. Dogs must be on leash at all time and the owner assumes all responsibility for their behavior, clean up, and injuries caused by the dog. Misbehaving dogs will be asked to leave the venue if they are inhibiting the enjoyment of others. Visit your city’s location page to see if the venue explicitly prohibit dogs.
- Can guys/friends come to watch? Sure! Bring the family.
Your man, guy friends, neighbors, “clean” friends, kids and everyone you know can be a spectator. Spectators enjoy a day of fabulous entertainment with access to the entire party area at no charge, beyond the per car parking fee. Spectators can wander the course as long as they stay off the obstacles and do not inhibit the path of the participants. Want to play a bigger support role and earn a free entry for you or a friend? Become a volunteer!
- Coming to the race and not running? Simple. Just pay for parking.
Parking costs $12.00 for the day. If you’re staying for the band(s) after, a $10.00 entrance to the band will be required if you are not a runner. Runners can enjoy the after party for no extra cost!
- Can I take photos during LoziLu? Yes, and we will too!
Entertain the shutterbug in you and snap away. Cameras are allowed everywhere EXCEPT in and around the shower area and changing tents. Please snap responsibly, no one likes a shady paparazzi. LoziLu has professional photographers on-course; your individual frames are just a $2.99 to download. A professional studio makes up the Red Carpet where you and the girls can show your dirty side; group frames are just $5.99 to download. All photos are available just a few days following LoziLu, typically Wednesday morning, and we’ll send you an email when those are ready.
